Annual Shutdown Period

We are closed for our annual summer shutdown from Monday 14th September 2020, re-opening Monday 21st September. During this period our phones will be switched off and all enquiries (emails/contact forms) will be dealt with in full upon our return to the office. After an extremely busy and stressful 5 months (we remained open the entire time working 7-day shift patterns), the whole John Skinner team is looking forward to a well-deserved break. Please respect this, and thank you for your patience.

Our Large Box size that we use for the majority of our parts is approximately 125cm x 23cm x 55cm.

Generally speaking, a complete Trim Kit (Panels, Seat Covers, Carpets, Boot / Trunk etc) will fit in 1 to 2 of our Large boxes, depending on the model of car and associated parts for that car. Some of the “Optional Extra” parts such as Seat Padding Foams and other related Hardware parts may require additional boxes.

Some items exceed the size of our Large Box. We will inform you where this is the case and will send through an independent quotation for a shipment of this size.

Will I have to pay any local import duties and taxes?

If you are based outside the European Union (EU), you may be liable for customs charges and clearance fees, as well as local government taxes. As the end receiver of these goods, it is your responsibility to pay for these costs, which may vary depending on a number of factors.

Due to these varying factors from destination to destination, John Skinner (Manufacturing) Ltd are unable to provide more detailed specifics on these charges, so please check with your local customs department / government website for more details.

Note that some countries have special “tax” laws regarding Classic & Vintage Auto Parts over a certain age, making these parts exempt from some charges. Our invoices clearly state that all parts are made for Classic & Vintage Automotive Vehicles of a certain age, for the purposes of assistance in customs clearance during import to their final destinations.

John Skinner cannot be held liable for any charges incurred by your local country’s customs department. Refer to Clause 5.9 in our Terms and Conditions of Sale.
